Transaction sculptures consist of a arrangement of smart contracts
that forward transactions to other contracts (or themselves) in
unique ways. Every activation of a sculpture will yield a different
result. All sculptures are unique and can be activated by anyone –
simply by sending a small amount of ETH to the address of the
sculpture. Vertical lines represent contracts and horizontal lines
represent the transfers between them. The complete visual
arrangement is one transaction – the most recent one.
The piece "Untitled" consists of 12+1 contracts that randomly
forward transactions between each other. Each bounce has a chance to
end the transaction and return the value to its sender. Any amount
of ETH will bounce a variable number of times, in unpredictable
order, each time the sculpture is activated.
This piece is a unique sculpture. Originally written as part of
a series of arrangements in 2018, it was deployed in 2025.
- Send any amount of ETH to the sculpture address 0x117553ba213Ee4fa51d91DbafF7059F0BE3A6779 on Mainnet Ethereum. The amount you send will be returned to you after the transaction completes its path through the contracts.
- Before sending, increase your gas limit to 300,000 to ensure the transaction completes. Because the sculpture follows many contracts and records its path, it requires more gas than a standard transaction. I.e. in MetaMask, select "Advanced" under gas settings and adjust the gas limit. Most wallets have similar options in their advanced or gas settings.
- Transaction costs depend on current network conditions, so check gas prices before sending. You'll only be charged for the gas actually used, but setting a higher limit prevents the transaction from failing mid-execution.
- The visualization automatically updates to display each new transaction's path through the sculpture.
